1998 USATF Southern California Association Championships

Sunday, November 15, 1998.

Location - La Mirada Regional Park.

Several Valley Striders teams competed in the USATF Southern California Association Championships.   (Although Valley Striders have qualified for the AAU Nationals in Knoxville on December 5, a few runners combined to form teams to compete in USATF competition, and ran the first of two qualifying meets today.)  Each of our three teams finished first and qualified to advance to next weekend's regionals in San Diego.   Congratulations to our individual champion:  Bridget Ballard (Bantam Girls).

The Valley Striders Bantam Girls "A" team took 6 of the top 8 places and won with a team score of 18 versus 2nd place LA Jets with 45.  Youth Boys were first with a score of 26 versus Southern California Roadrunners with 30.
